During the morning, the event will take prospective angel backers through the why's and how's of Angel investing. A live pitching event for female founded businesses seeking angel funding will take place in the afternoon.

Hannah Brynn, ACG Managing Director, says: “Across the country just 14 per cent of Angel Investors are female – a statistic that shows just how much work there is to do in this space.

“We know that 25-50 per cent of a female angel's portfolio is made up of female founded companies. If we want to see more female founded companies get funding then we need to encourage more women into angel investing.

“The more females we see getting funded, the more we will see coming out as successful exited entrepreneurs with the capacity to invest in other women. We need to build that virtuous circle and we need to do this by encouraging more women into angel investing.”

Centre Manager, Andrew Bell, adds: “We are very excited to be holding this Angel Investors event at The EpiCentre and it fits exactly with our ethos of not only providing flexible space for companies but providing them with the support to enable them to grow their businesses. Raising investment finance is a key part of any company’s growth journey.”

At the morning event speakers will include Paul Sullivan of British Business Bank who will provide attendees with a picture of the UK investing landscape; Hannah Brynn of ACG will give an angel investing overview, followed by representatives of tax advisers RSM to highlight the tax considerations and law firm Birketts to outline how to structure an Angel deal; this will be rounded off by a ‘Fireside Chat’ and Q & A.

There will be an opportunity to network over lunch and in the afternoon attendees are welcome to join the ACG Pitching event where they will be able to meet other ACG angel investor members and watch pitches from the companies, where there will be a focus on female founded businesses, who will be pitching for investment.
