Poppy blooms in the land of the tulip
During her visit the Minister was due to meet key institutional investors to send a clear message that the UK is open for business and that the Government is creating the right conditions for a stable fiscal environment to attract greater investment.
She was due to have a bilateral meeting with President of the Europe Region for Heineken, Glenn Caton, where she aimed to discuss what the UK can do to help unlock market access barriers to free up bilateral trade and encourage inward investment to the UK.
As part of the UK Government's sponsorship of the World Pensions Summit, Minister Gustafsson was also due to speak at a dinner hosted by the UK Ambassador to the Netherlands, Joanna Roper.
Gustafsson aimed to discuss the importance of government stability and reform to attendees who have a combined $6 trillion worth of assets under management.
The Minister was also slated to meet with the Chair of the Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce, Heba Bevan, to promote Anglo-Dutch trade.
Gustafsson said: “It’s great to be here in the Netherlands with key investors from across the globe. I’m looking forward to showing businesses how investment is at the heart of this government’s plans and our mission to grow the economy.
“The UK has a dynamic, open and innovative business environment that’s backed by sensible, pragmatic regulation. We are determined to provide the stability and reform needed to ensure the UK remains a top investment destination.”
