Howes Percival aces deal for golf travel firm

Howes Percival's Leisure and Tourism team has acted on the sale of ASR Travel Group Limited, including its subsidiary Golf Holidays Direct and four dormant subsidiaries to Sports Tours International Limited, for an undisclosed sum.

Stevenage-based Golf Holidays Direct, established in 2017 by Lewis Remington, is the UK's fastest growing and Europe's third largest golf travel operator.

More than 50,000 golfers a year trust Golf Holidays Direct to deliver dream trips to many of the world's best courses and resorts, and bucket-list events including The Masters and Ryder Cup.

Founded in 1973, Sports Tours International, is fully owned by Betfred Chairman, Fred Done and is the global market leader in running and cycling travel, posting record results for the last three years.

By joining forces, Sports Tours International aims to create the UK's largest sports travel group. The Golf Holidays Direct brand will remain unchanged and continue to operate out of its headquarters in Stevenage, led by Lewis Remington.

Led by Corporate partner, Tom Redman, the Howes Percival team included corporate lawyers Ben Hancox, Shital Odedra, Bradley Johnson, Olivia Robinson and Hugh Begley.

Company Secretarial was handled by Chloe Bristow, Amy Wright and Lauren Seal. Sam Moore looked after Tax and Anna Bithrey, Employment law.

James Howarth, Hannah Steggles and Zara Khan worked on IP, Sarah Levett; Commercial Property and secretarial support was provided by Deb Hay-Davison.
