HCR Hewitsons hands Cambridgeshire startups cash and opportunity to make real impact
Impact55 is open to early-stage businesses using technology to create a positive social or environmental impact. To enter, businesses will need to complete a short online application and submit a video explaining the impact they are making.
Neither their tech nor bottom line are the deciding factors. The firm appreciates that start-ups will have differences in where they are on their business growth trajectory. Entrants must:-
- Have raised external capital funding (or agreed terms for capital funding) from pre-seed to Series A (inclusive) or secured grant funding
- Be an impact start-up, creating change relating to at least one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals
They will then be judged on the strength of their application, which asks how they might use the HCR Impact55 support as well as them providing a video about their company.
HCR Hewitsons is embedded in Cambridgeshire, having had an office here for over 170 years. The firm regularly advises scaling businesses on all aspects of business growth including funding and investment.
Inger Anson, Corporate Partner leading the firm’s early-stage deals practice, said: “I really enjoy working with high growth businesses and supporting them to achieve their potential, throughout their business journey. At HCR Hewitsons, we have a clear commitment to making our own positive impact and part of this includes supporting the wider Cambridgeshire business community.
“We hope that the launch of Impact55 will allow successful applicants to move their business forward. Along with funded legal advice to help with their current business needs, they will be able to take advantage of our experience and have HCR Hewitsons as part of their wider team.”
• Applications for Impact55 will close at 8pm on 15th November 2024. For more details, including full entry criteria and the online application form, visit: www.hcrlaw.com/impact55.
