Four accolades for East of England region in UKSPA 40th Anniversary Awards

Three East of England life science venues and a company based at one of the campuses won accolades at the UKSPA40 Anniversary Awards.

Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst won ‘Most Successful Science Park – Small’ while Babraham Research Campus won the award for ‘Driving an Interactive Community – Large’ and Unity Campus was victorious in the ‘Driving an Interactive Community – Small’ award.

Autolus, which is based at Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst, won the ‘Most Successful Company’ award. The company is developing CAR T-cell therapies for patients with cancer.

Dr Sally Ann Forsyth, CEO of SBC, said: “Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst is truly honoured to win Most Successful Science Park (Small) Award and for the SBC graduate Autolus Therapeutics to have won Most Successful Company, nominated by SBC as an UKSPA partner.

“With some fierce competition in the mix, we’re delighted to have been recognised for our dedication to creating the best environment for companies to start-up and scale-up to deliver health innovations improving the quality of people’s lives.”

Unity Campus, owned and managed by Howard Group, stood out in the Interactive Community category thanks to its carefully curated engagement and events programme.

The award recognises Unity Campus’ personal approach to successfully building a collaborative and inclusive environment that drives both social and professional collaboration and champions community groups, including Cambridge City Foodbank, Sawston Village College, and the Royal British Legion.

Since its inception, Unity Campus has been dedicated to supporting local charities, schools, and residents, as well as creating a working environment that meets the needs of its professional inhabitants.
