“PureID’s identity-based segmentation aligns with our vision to provide stronger segmentation and smarter containment while still allowing reliably identified access to business-critical resources,” Rajesh Khazanchi, ColorTokens’ CEO, said in a statement.

ColorTokens has offices in California, London and Bangalore. PureID was founded by Ajit Hatti, a cryptography expert from India and Sumit ‘Sid’ Siddharth, a cyber entrepreneur from Cambridge, UK.

Hatti said: “We are excited for ColorTokens to leverage PureID’s segment-leading, true-passwordless identity access management capabilities in their comprehensive breach-ready strategy. Together we will tremendously minimise the impact of a breach for businesses.”

While PureID is Ajit’s first start-up, Siddharth previously founded and successfully exited startups NotSoSecure and RankedRight and is now working with startups The SecOps Group, RedHunt Labs and Cyber Warfare Labs.

He also runs the infosec accelerator called Disruptrs, where he invests in and mentors infosec startups and entrepreneurs.

“PureID is the first major exit for any company within the Disruptrs family. I am really excited for them, and I am hopeful other startups within the family will follow similar route,” he said.
