Cheers! Everard Cole feted for hospitality sector deals

The firm has been rated as the most active property agent for the pub and hotels sector in the East of England, with two of its agents ranked as the region’s top two dealmakers, according to specialist platform EG Radius.
As the consultancy continues to transact over 10 freehold sales per month on a national scale, its founder and MD believes that the next chapter for the British hospitality sector is being written by those who see potential, not just problems .
Everard Cole scooped second place in the hotly contested national rankings by completed number of deals, transacting 108 property deals across England covering over 376,435 sq ft of space across all hospitality property categories, in the 12-months to end-2024.
The firm was identified as the most active sector consultancy across the East of England, having completed 24 deals – twice as many as its competitors in the region – covering 57,676 sq ft of space.
In the East of England individual dealmaker rankings, Everard Cole’s agents occupied two of the top five positions - industry stalwarts, Tom Nichols and Gareth Hatton.
Among the agency’s major transactions across the region for 2024, notable ones include:-
• The acquisition of Gin Trap - a 17th century coaching Inn, located in the village of Ringstead, North Norfolk, by Chestnut Group. The freehold business with its 13 letting rooms, bars, Portrait Room, conservatory restaurant and designer gardens was acquired in December 2024.
• Lettings at the independent retail village, Ben’s Yard, on the Stuntney Estate, near Ely. Both food and beverage units were let to Amelie Restaurants who now operate Amelie Cafe & Bakeshop and Amelie Restaurant, as two separate but complementary businesses.
• Sale of tapas bar and restaurant Casa, in Bury St Edmunds – to local pub Group ‘Burlison Inns’ in August 2024. The premises have now reopened under its former name from nearly two decades ago –The Rising Sun – as a traditional family friendly pub.
• Freehold sale of The White Hart in Boxford, Suffolk, to a local businessman in the village in November 2024. The now pub landlord intends to hunt for the remains of a motorbike-riding lioness that is believed to be buried under the pub car park in the 20th century!
Everard Cole’s regional successes also extend across its other offices in Nottingham and Leeds, as well as on a national scale. James Boshier was crowned the most active agent with the most deals England-wide, as well across the North West and the North East, as was Jon Heald for the number of deals he closed in the East Midlands.
