The university spin-out’s mission is to improve patient quality of life through neural engineering. The company’s technology platform Neural Digital Therapy promotes seamless healthcare by harnessing AI systems that read neural data in real-time to create a new generation of personalised medicines.

The BIOS neural insights platform can power through the vast data of the human nervous system to link nerve activity to health conditions with precision through the discovery of neural biomarkers. The company says the technology has the potential to improve the quality of life of millions of patients who suffer from conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and potentially brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

BIOS scaled fast after clinching a major but undisclosed venture round supported by top investors and industry leaders in 2023.

At the start of 2024, the company announced that it was creating a cutting edge research and clinical trials centre in California – its second international hub after launching an AI and neuroscience research site in Canada in 2018.

BIOS said its technology was moving into eight worldwide clinics to power a groundbreaking new study funded by the US National Institutes of Health.
