Ashtons Legal advises on strategic acquisition

East Anglian lawyers were prominent as an Ashtons Legal team helped Torquay Holdings Limited (THL Group) in its acquisition of Solar Gates UK, a provider of solar-powered safety and security barriers and traffic management solutions. No figures have been disclosed.

The deal was led by partner Craig Fiddaman who worked with the buyers previously on other transactions.

He was assisted by Greg McCurday from the Commercial Property Team, Emily Dixon in Employment and Hannah Murphy, Whitney Crow and Hannah McCreadie from the Corporate and Commercial team.

Fiddaman is based in the Suffolk offices, McCurday in Norfolk and the remainder spread across the region.

THL is an existing client that Fiddaman has advised in previous acquisitions, including breaking into the Australian market.

THL Group already owns Mobile Visual Information Systems (MVIS) and Bartco Australia, other providers in the traffic and infrastructure industry. The addition of Solar Gates UK adds to a growing portfolio and will allow each brand to broaden the reach and impact of its products to the transport industry.

Torquay Holdings Limited are based in Derbyshire, Solar Gates UK are headquartered in Maidstone, Kent.
