AnthroTek hosts delegation from Shenzhen as it eyes £1.5m seed round

AnthroTek, a rising star in hyper-realistic artificial skin and medical simulation innovation, entertained MBA graduates from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Shenzhen. The university is renowned for its excellence in engineering and technology and is often referred to as part of the “Silicon Valley of China.”
The delegation comprised 22 senior professionals from across China’s academic, technology, finance and healthcare sectors, many of whom already served in Director or General Manager-level roles.
Nazmus Tareque, Chief Commercial Officer at AnthroTek, said: “The visit served as a meaningful exchange of ideas and perspectives and an exciting opportunity to explore future China-facing collaborations.
“As AnthroTek continues to innovate in artificial skin technologies for medical simulation and robotics, these kinds of global connections are essential. They not only help us refine our proposition for international markets but also offer valuable insight into how business is done in China. This visit was especially important as it featured a group of experienced professionals active within Shenzhen’s DeepTech cluster.”

The visit emphasises AnthroTek’s growing international profile as it develops cutting-edge silicone solutions for applications in healthcare, robotics, and human-centred engineering.
Since moving into dedicated premises in October 2024, AnthroTek has delivered projects for some of the world’s leading medical and surgical device manufacturers — including a recent collaboration with a top global surgical tools provider.
The company is also shortlisted in three categories at the 35th Business Weekly Awards; Startup of the Year, Disruptive Technology and Life Science Innovation.
And in an exciting update shared with Business Weekly, the founders confirm that the company has secured significant commitments towards a £1.5 million seed round; more details will follow in due course.
Earlier this year, the startup, steered by co-founders Tareque and Dr Raoul Peltier, announced that they had a key role in an as yet unidentified blockbuster movie which is set to be screened soon.
