Allia toasts silver jubilee and eyes a golden future of social impact
Now it is seeking to gold-plate the future and work to create an additional 40,000 new social impact start-ups each and every year.
A 25th anniversary event was hosted at St Catharine’s College in Cambridge where the past was toasted but a bold new future blueprint was also unveiled. The event brought together partners, supporters and changemakers who have contributed to Allia’s vision of transforming the business landscape to make social impact the norm.
Achievements over the past quarter-century have included supporting thousands of social ventures, startups and charities to grow and thrive, all while making a tangible difference in their communities.
“We are so proud of how far we’ve come since our founding in 1999,” said Tim Jones, Chairman, Allia Group. “This milestone is a testament to the power of collaboration and the commitment of so many individuals and organisations who share our vision.
“As we look to the next 25 years, we are more determined than ever that Allia must continue to drive a world where all businesses are making a positive impact.”
The evening also included the release of Allia’s Impact Report 1999–2024, a comprehensive overview of its accomplishments and aspirations. The report underscores the organisation’s commitment to accelerating ventures that tackle social challenges, fostering innovation, and championing sustainability.
For those unable to attend the celebration, Allia invites supporters to visit its anniversary webpage to explore the Impact Report and learn how they can contribute to its transformative initiatives.
As Allia embarks on its next chapter, it hopes to further its impact – helping more businesses make a deeper and wider change in society and the world. The ambition is nothing less than to transform the focus of business in the UK.
Allia is aiming for a tipping point where social impact businesses move from being around 10 per cent of all businesses, to beyond the key adoption point of 16 per cent where research shows that a trend is destined to become mainstream, to at least 20 per cent. Over time this means the creation of an extra 40,000 new social impact start-ups a year.
