SAGE, the world’s leading independent academic and professional publisher, has completed the relocation of its warehouse operations from London to Peterborough.
The new facility was officially opened with a tour attended by staff and key customers.
SAGE now publishes more than 800 books a year and more than 560 journals. The Peterborough warehouse, based at Fengate East, provides more than double the space of the company’s former warehouse – an additional 16,500 sq feet and an extra 3m in height.
The increased space allows for better stock management and fulfilment and integration of stock for all SAGE’s publishing programmes.
“SAGE has always prided itself on providing excellent customer service and distribution,” said Katharine Jackson, deputy MD and finance director.
“We have consistently been placed in the top five publishers in the annual Bookseller Association’s Academic, Professional and Specialist Booksellers Group distributor awards and want to be able to continue to provide this level of service as our business expands. These new facilities provide us with the scope to do so.”
