A global publishing giant has taken major space in Peterborough in one of the largest lettings in the city this year.
SAGE Publications, the world’s leading independent academic and professional publisher with operations in the US, Asia, India and London, has taken a lease on 36,581 sq ft of industrial space at Fengate East. Savills Peterborough secured the letting.
The unit will be mainly used as a storage and distribution facility.
Marc Cowley of developer CBRE Investors, said: “This second letting at Fengate East, along with three units in solicitors’ hands, really shows that occupiers want a high quality product in a good geographical position.”
Paul Farrow, director of Savills Peterborough, added: “Fengate East is particularly well located to provide good transport links for those looking for distribution facilities and the letting to Sage is an excellent example of this.
“We are encouraged by the confidence large corporations are placing in Peterborough as a location and, although the year has started slowly, there is some optimism in the market.”
Phase one of Fengate East comprises 18 prominent new trade counter and industrial/warehouse units fronting Fengate. It is located just minutes from junction 5 of the A1139 ring road with units ranging in sizes from 3,089-10,204 sq ft with phase two offering design and build packages up to 120,000 sq ft.
